The Challenge of Leadership Series

This series of workshops is designed to enhance motivation, improve communication, and foster a team approach to solving problems.

All the workshops include a participant's workbook with an outline of the presentation and room for personal notes. A team approach is used to analyze selected cases and illustrate important ideas. In some workshops, key topics are highlighted with video tapes. All workshops are two hours.

How To ACHIEVE Success In Life:
This workshop examines the meaning of success and the role that goal setting and self-motivation play in our ability to achieve success in both our professional career and personal life. The use of Management By Objectives is evaluated - and replaced with Leadership. A five page personal profile that discusses leadership style, stamina level, motivational and demotivational factors, and numerous other personal characteristics is provided for all participants.

Qualities of Effective Leaders:
All effective managers exhibit certain unique qualities that can be explored and learned by others. This workshop will examine the qualities of top performing leaders, the types of skills that all managers should effectively learn how to use, and some things that leaders should never do.

The PRICE of Leadership:
The principles outlined in the One Minute Manager and Putting The One Minute Manager To Work are explored in this workshop. Specific topics in this workshop include: the effective application of goal setting in management, how and when to deliver both praises and reprimands to employees, and the use of employee evaluations.

Unleashing Your Creativity:
This workshop will explore proven methods to tap your creative talents, techniques for managing creative people, and how to apply the creative problem solving process.

Making The Most Of Your Time:
Everyone can make better use of their time. This workshop will illustrate proven methods that will let anyone regain control of their most valuable asset, time. Participants will conduct a personal time study, learn the importance of planning by priorities, and see how they can gain an additional month of personal productivity each year.

How To COPE With Stress:
Stress is a force that every person will face and must learn to deal with. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of exactly what stress is, why some stress is beneficial, and the effect stress has on our bodies. Specific skills for coping with stress will be addressed in this workshop.

Building Your Supervision Skills:
This workshop is designed for those individuals who are moving up from line employees to front line supervisors. Topics Include: communication, motivation, team building, decision making and administering rewards and discipline.

Improving Business Ethics:
At some point in our careers, most of will face difficult ethical questions. This workshop will help the individual understand their personal values and ethics, learn how to apply an ethics check to all situations, and examine the need for a code of business ethics.

The Management Of Quality:
Shortly after World War II, the United States government sent W. Edwards Deming to Japan to help them reorganize their devastated industries. He taught them a philosophy of quality management. This workshop will introduce the participant to the concept of Quality Management, discuss Deming's 14 Points of Quality Management, review the use of Teams (Quality Circles), and look at Statistical Process Control.

Getting Your Message Across:
One of the keys to being an effective leader is having outstanding communication skills. This workshop emphasizes that the goal of communication is to inform not impress. Specific techniques for improving both written and oral communication will be explored.

Meetings That Get Results:
The material presented in this workshop will help you develop the techniques and skills necessary for holding effective meetings. You will learn how to avoid wasting your time and hundreds of dollars of your company's assets.

Building A Winning Team:
How do I get my people to work together as an effective team? This is a question asked by many leaders. The Team Building workshop will explore several techniques that will help you develop your work-group into an effective team.

Coping With Organizational Change:
Change should be considered a normal and natural part of our lives. Being able to change and reshape our companies will be instrumental in our continued economic growth. Instead of avoiding change at all costs, we must learn to embrace change, not fear it.

Performance Appraisals That Get Results:
